It’s that time of year again—and can you believe this marks our 10th release of the Kalash Imperial Stout?
As always, we’ll be releasing this year’s Kalash Imperial Stout in 440ml cans, alongside the whisky imperial stout in collaboration with westside legends, Bakery Hill.
For the first time, we’ll also be releasing a limited-edition 10-year vertical pack, including all 10 Kalash cans from the past years. This will be exclusively available online, with a small number available at the taproom.
In early June, the Hop Nation Footscray taproom will be pouring Kalash Imperial Stouts from across the past 10 years. With only small amounts of kegs from previous brews available, be sure to get in quick to sample the dark liquid.
The 2026 Kalash Imperial Stout
The 2025 Kalash was aged in seasoned Bourbon barrels for four months before blending. The result is a deep, brooding beer layered with complexity. A subtle oak and Bourbon character integrates beautifully with notes of dark chocolate, tar, and spice.
Smooth, rich, and utterly uncompromising—this is The Kalash at its most refined. A beer to sip, savour, and perhaps fear just a little.
This rich, brooding beast will take you to your dark side.
The Kalash Whisky Imperial Stout Whiskey Edition
Welcome the 7th collaboration with the legends at Bakery Hill Distillery.
For this release, a select portion of the 2026 Kalash was aged in whisky barrels that previously held mature Bakery Hill Single Malt Whisky for over a decade. The result? A dark spirit that bridges the worlds of beer and whisky—layered, smooth, and undeniably bold. It’s everything you love about Kalash, elevated by the deep complexity of one of Australia’s finest single malts.

The Kalash 2026 Release Event
This year’s Kalash release event will be held on Saturday, 6th June 2026.
Tickets will go on sale from 6th May to Hop Citizens, followed by the general public. Please note this is a seated event with limited tickets available.
As always, punters will have the chance to sample Kalash brews from across the years, including this year’s releases. The Bakery Hill team will also be in attendance, pouring their iconic Blunderbuss Whisky—made using the very barrels that housed the Kalash Imperial Stout Whisky edition.
Of course, our good friends at Good Pizza will be putting on a feast for all to enjoy, including pizza, fries and dessert.
Plus, all ticket holders will receive a complimentary Kalash Stout branded glass to take home.
This is going to be epic.
