Syrah Sour Red 2021
We placed a blend of sour red ale, averaging two years old, into our foedre; where it met with the spent cherries from our 2020 Lapin Cherry Sour and a ton of Syrah skins from Heathcote. This was then aged on these skins for four months.
The beer pours blood red, with earthy spicy notes. The palate is distinctly sour, with grape tannins showing through.
Oud Bruin Ale
This beer was made using a base malt of 50% Munich malt, along with a selection of wheat, oats and base schooner malts. The resulting beer was aged in 225L French oak barrels for two years on our house culture.
Displaying earthiness and brown spice on the nose, the palate is balanced by malt sweetness and a tart, racy acidity.
